The "One More Trade" Syndrome

Easiest Way To get Spit Out Of The Markets

I had a coaching call with one my platinum students who wasn’t too happy about what happened last week….

It was the end of a profitable trading day.

His planned trades had worked out perfectly, and he should have been done.

But that little voice in his head whispered:

"Just one more trade..."

We both know how this story ends.

That "one more trade" wiped out all my students gains for that day - and then some.

I call it the "One More Trade" syndrome, and it's one of the most dangerous habits that can destroy an otherwise solid trading approach.

Here's why it's so deadly...

When you've had a good day, you feel invincible.

Your judgment gets clouded by recent success.

You start thinking you've "figured out" the market.

And that's exactly when the market teaches you its harshest lessons.

The same thing happens after losses. You think, "Just one more trade to make it back..."

But now you're trading from an even worse mental state - desperate, emotional, and completely off your game.

I spent years battling this demon.

Even after I'd developed a solid trading strategy, this one habit kept sabotaging my results.

The breakthrough came when I realized something crucial:

Consistent profitability isn't about maximizing every single day.

It's about showing up, executing your plan, and knowing when to walk away.

The market will always be there tomorrow.

But your capital won't be if you don't protect it today.

That means having the discipline to stick to your trading plan - not just with your entries and exits, but with your daily limits too.

Set clear rules for:

  • Maximum number of trades per day

  • Daily profit targets

  • Maximum daily losses

  • Trading hours

And then stick to them. No exceptions. No "just one more."

Keep Growing,
